Administration regulations

 How to register for a course? 

First let us congratulate you for wishing to take a step to enhance your career.

Before registering we suggest, if you can, to come for a meeting at the academy where you can see the facilities, hear about the different options, consult what will be best for you and we’ll get to know each other better.

Once you have decided to register you will need to provide:

• Passport  standard photo
• Photo copy of ID card (passport, DNI , driven licences…)
• Registration form, filled and signed.
• 50 euro registration fee and 25% of total fee.
• C.V (optional)

Our courses have a limited number of students  therefore we suggest not waiting for the last minute and to register as soon as you know you wish to take the course.

How do I need to pay?  

On registration you will be asked to pay 50 euro registration fee (‘matricula’) and 25% of the total courses and exams fees which you have selected.

On the first day of the course you will need to pay extra 25% (or the rest of the amount for a short workshop).

Then you can pay 2 payments of 25% each (last payment must be maid no later then a month before the final exam).

The 50 euros registration fee is applied for each registration form ,therefore, it is to your advantage to register all the courses on the same form.

What do I need to bring to class?

For practical classes you will need to come with:

• White polo shirt
• White long pair of trousers
• White shoes and white socks
• Two bath size  towels

All just plain white without any logos

For theory, please bring notebook and pen.

You are advised to purchase a massage bed for case histories (can be purchased at the academy or from www.mistiyan.com/shop ).

What happens if I miss a class?

We suggest avoiding missing classes but if you have no other choice then:

You can miss up to 20% of course tutorial hours without the need to complete hours.

you will need then to catch up on the material by yourself and from your fellow students.

If you miss more then 20% then you will need to organize private classes for the price of  60€  for a class. (Each private class hour equals 3 course hours).

If you have missed more then that and failed to complete the hours you will need to retake the course.

When  exams fee is applied? 

There is no exam fee for in-house certification (credited by the national association of naturopath professionals FENACO).

For international diplomas you will need to pay the external exam fee:

ITEC exam fee 180 euros.

ANM exam fee 100 euros.

These costs include: theory exam papers (received in a sealed envelope from London) and paper check, examiner fee and expense (flight, hotel and food and so), foreign student registration fee and report and final issuing of diploma.

When is the next ITEC exam:

ITEC exams are done normally once or twice a year on Friday morning about a week to a month after the in house exam.

For the practical exam you should bring:

• Clean uniform as instructed.
• Model (can not use a fellow student)
• Pair of slippers for your model
• 3 white towels.

Accredited  previous learning 

If you already hold a diploma in one or more subjects then you can ask to acknowledge it toward your course fee and hours.

To accredit your previous learning please provide photo copy of your diploma and course syllabus.

You may be asked to pass a level test to determine if your level is suitable to enter the course.

What happens if I cannot complete the course? 

If for some reason you decide not to continue with the course then:

You will lose all payments made including the deposit and registration fee.

In the case you have paid the course fee in full then a summary letter will be issued to credit your hours and you will have the opportunity to come again to complete the course within the period of a year.

In the case the course is cancelled by the academy then you will receive a full refund.

In the following cases the school has the authority to expel a student:

• Missing more then 20% of course tutorial hours.
• Misbehaviour in class.
• Not paying course fees in reasonable time.
• Concealing health conditions.

What happens if I have failed the exam?

 If you have failed the exam then you will have a second chance in a months time.

If you also failed the 2^nd exam then you can apply for a 3^rd chance (this time it will be an open questions theory paper) and you will need to pay 60 Euros tutor fee.

Still not successful ? Well then you will need to repeat the course.

Where will I work once I am qualified?

Students of  Mistiyan are benefiting from a real working opportunity within the company under 'Terapia del Sol', which operates 10 massage sites on the Costa del Sol and is the leading massage service for over 30 hotels. Students also benefit from priority employment with Steiner, an international company operating spas onboard over 116 luxury cruise ships.
Other possibilities like working privately or mobile are covered in the business awareness workshops.
